'Freedom First' Is The Theme Of Hustler's 43rd Anniversary Issue |
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.—The year was 1974, and Larry Flynt was the owner of six high-class Ohio Hustler Clubs when, with the club revenues down due to a post-Nixon nationwide recession, he turned what had started out as a two-page black-and-white Hustler Newsletter for his clubs into a full-fledged, full-color Hustler magazine, sold on newsstands across the country. And this month, in honor of 43 straight years of publishing Hustler magazine, Flynt is dedicating this anniversary issue as a bold, patriotic special issue, embracing the theme "Freedom First," on sale tomorrow, June 6. Whether it be sexual freedom, religious freedom or freedom of speech, the founder and staff of Hustler magazine firmly believe that without putting freedom first, there can be no "America first." "The Hustler anniversary issue is an irreverent political statement against the taboos of repression," explained Hustler founder and chairman Larry Flynt. This special collector's issue honors activism and diversity throughout its fully loaded pages. In addition to stunning current and classic pictorial layouts, the anniversary issue will offer concrete strategies on how to be an effective activist and will highlight Larry Flynt's challenge to the mainstream press to report current political, scientific, religious and cultural events responsibly, as well as introduce Hustler readers to advocacy for the rights of porn performers and sex workers, for those who may not already be aware of same. As an added bonus, the issue will share a peek inside brothel life with an exposé of the career and background of Nevada's youngest madam. The issue will also pay homage to Hustler's rich history of firsts, from layouts featuring transgender models to pregnant nudes, as well as a look back at the magazine's outrageous political parodies and cartoons. The anniversary issue is a celebration of Larry Flynt's 43-year career of shaking up the Establishment and fighting for everyone's sexual and political rights—in short, fighting for everyone's freedoms. Purchasing the special 43rd anniversary issue of Hustler will support that continuing fight.
