New Content Producer CamasutraVR Targets Adult Stars For Rollout |
LOS ANGELES—CamasutraVR appears to have sprung full-grown from ... somewhere ... in early March of this year, and though its Twitter feed is loaded with pics of hot adult stars like Casey Calvert and Krissy Lynn being lensed (by 135 separate cameras) for VR content, its internet presence so far is minimal, with the Twitter link to its website yielding a blank page. But all that may be about to change, now that the New York Post last Monday published an extensive article on the company, titled "This porn star can do anything you want her to"—and since "this porn star" is the multi-award-winning Anikka Albrite, and since the article featured no less than seven nearly naked photos of the actress, mostly surrounded by miles of wires and dozens of vidcams, it looks as if CamasutraVR will be hitting the big time real soon ... even though it has yet to release a product. "Tucked in a nondescript office building not too far from Los Angeles International Airport, CamasutraVR’s recent virtual reality porn shoot revealed a few key ingredients: some serious technology, a seriously hot porn actress and a whole lot of cameras," wrote the Post's Eve Weston. "The two owners of CamasutraVR have been working in visual effects for ages, and it’s a good thing. Their small team—four people in the US and 10 in the Philippines—will have to use 12 different pieces of software to get from capture to completion. Some of the software will be technology borrowed from high-end video games, but some of it is proprietary and was developed for this specific purpose." The article goes into minute detail regarding what Anikka was instructed to do during the shoot, how to move, how to react to imaginary stimuli, and in one telling yet eerie note, "For each take, she isolates a different facial muscle and the cameras capture that discrete movement," because "Having each muscle movement isolated will later allow the production team to string together the movements to create any possible facial expression." Sadly, all this work will go into creating avatars of the stars—a fact that won't trouble those used to playing with the lifelike simulacra universally available in VR video games, but those looking for adult sexual content have already become used to seeing their favorite actresses "in the flesh" in hardcore VR, and CamasutraVR may find it a bit difficult turning back the clock. Still, according to Weston, "Investors are excited to get on board and so is Albrite. Pressed for what she finds most exciting about the new medium, she says, 'When the viewer can interact; nobody else has that.' And she’s right." "What does this actually mean?" Weston asks regarding the extreme detail being captured of Anikka's body and movements. "It means that while the viewer will be in a VR headset, they’ll feel like they’re in the same room as the adult star. They’ll be able to touch and to see the results of their touch—the pulling of skin in a tempting pinch—though they won’t be able to feel the actress’ flesh … yet. The viewer will, however, be able to have virtual sex with the avatar. And, since feeling is key, 'intercourse' could involve toys; the virtual reality interface will be able to link to real-world props." Indeed; forget "could"; adult VR is already being produced that interacts with Bluetooth-enabled vibrators and strokers. All they'll need now is realistic molds of their actresses' faces, tits and pussies and the customers should swarm. In any case, the phenomenal amount of detail being captured by CamasutraVR of each actress will undoubtedly allow her avatar to interact much more with the user than real actresses currently can in VR. "CamasutraVR is positioned to have a fully animated adult actress ready for interaction by this May," Weston concludes, "and once they do, they will have completely revolutionized the technological landscape, to say nothing of the sexual and interpersonal landscape. But for now, there’s Albrite and her helmet, paving the way." For more about Anikka and her helmet, read the full article here.
