AVN Media Network Releases Code of Conduct for AVN Show |
CHATSWORTH, Calif.—At the 2017 AVN Show, attendees will encounter something new: a Code of Conduct designed to create a safe and welcoming environment for all. “We want to make sure that everyone who attends the AVN Show, from exhibitors to talent to fan attendees, has the best possible experience,” said Tony Rios, CEO of AVN Media Network. “With this Code of Conduct, we hope to make everyone feel safe and welcomed.” The Code of Conduct applies to all attendees of all events at the AVN Show (AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN Novelty Expo and the AVN Awards Show). The Code of Conduct reads as follows: AVN Media Network expects all attendees of the AVN Show (AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN Novelty Expo and the AVN Awards Show) to abide by common-sense rules for public behavior and personal interaction. The AVN Show celebrates adult entertainment, but it is NOT an arena where disrespectful and non-consensual behavior will be condoned. AVN Media Network has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: • Physical assault and/or battery • Stalking • Unwelcome physical contact • Harassing photography (cameras are allowed, but no means no if an individual declines to pose) • Photographs or recordings that violate privacy (e.g., upskirt shots, shooting in non-public spaces) • Offensive verbal assaults, including but not limited to negative comments based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity/presentation • Harassment in public restrooms (guests at the AVN Show are welcome to use the restrooms that match their gender presentation or identity) AVN Media Network reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the badge of any attendee not in compliance with this anti-harassment policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety compromised or who become aware of an attendee violating this policy should immediately locate the nearest uniformed security guard or AVN team member (identifiable by staff T-shirts) so the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner. If a person engages in harassing behavior, AVN Media Network staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the AVN Show with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention: exhibitors, fans (attendees), speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, volunteers and security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy. Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness another person being harassed, you should immediately contact AVN Media Network staff or a security team member. If necessary, we will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment.
