I was so nervous right beforehand, and then I got there, and then we started, and it was like I’d done it all the time.” Laine describes her pre-adult-industry life as “waitressing, and doing odd jobs, and living out of my car traveling. Gypsying from Kentucky to California. I was on my way to Alaska and then I got into porn.” She was fired from a waitressing gig in Santa Cruz because “they said it was my attitude problem, but I think it was because I was living in my car. They were kinda weird about that. I couldn’t find another job for some reason and I found Kevin Moore from Evil Angel on Reddit. I didn’t know who he was, and I emailed him ‘How do I get into porn?’ He invited me to one of his sets, so I took a train to L.A., sat through a 12-hour set, and took a train back the next morning. He hooked me up with my agency the next day.” She says her best work so far has been for HookupHotshot.com with Bryan Gozzling and a “super hardcore fake murder-rape scene for Psycho-Thrillers.com.” “I love all the people that I meet in the industry, all the people I work with. I’m just trying to have fun with it and not be too crazy serious.” She doesn’t have a long-term plan: “I never do.” But the vagabond spirit still burns bright: “Right now I’m trying to save as much money as I can to get a van and live in it. I’m living under a roof against my will. It’s making me crazy. I just want some land and a school bus.
