Tasha Reign: Why Feature Dancing Is Important |
One way I earn an income and travel the world is through feature dancing. There are so many talented girls out there, and shooting adult scenes is competitive, and it’s important to diversify your audience. I’ve learned to take my career to the next level featuring. Feature dancing is much like touring for musicians. It keeps me meeting new fans and performing live for tons of people while offering a unique and personalized experience, which helps me stand out. It shows industry colleagues and my fans, the Reigndeer, that I want to give them my time. When featuring, I can literally get face to face with my fans and provide them with a fun night that they will always remember, while also building my brand along the way. It’s similar to signing at conventions, such as the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, so that people can see who’s behind the character they see in movies. It also shows fans I care about them, and they appreciate me traveling across the country to meet them. Performing on stage puts me directly into my fans’ experience. I enjoy entertaining people. I can sell merchandise and give lap dances afterward, making my trip much more lucrative. For my brand, I find it pertinent to do things like feature dancing to broaden my target audience. Some brand building even comes by word of mouth from fans and patrons who see my performances. I give my performances my all and am sure to incorporate full routines, costumes and a customized playlist as well as games and props so the club is entertained and the customers are happy! It’s a great idea to have someone on my side who can plan important details and contact the clubs for me, as well as promote my appearances and make sure any requests I have get met. Having an agent, like the Lee Network, has helped me tremendously. I wouldn’t recommend being an independent contractor, as it’s important to have a middleman negotiating on my behalf. I wouldn’t want to handle all the small details, as well as learn the ins and outs of the strip club industry—that’s a job in and of itself. It’s much easier to focus on my career and goals, as well as my routines and how to best engage fans, while my agency has my back. I know my limits and boundaries now, so I don’t get burned out, and I communicate those to my agent, which I would highly recommend for any girl to do before starting this profession. Your agent is there to make you feel comfortable and get your needs met, so you can focus on having fun and entertaining, all while making a good living. I’m thankful to the Lee Network for making things easy for me, so I can enjoy doing what I love! This article originally ran in AVN magazine.
