Braun, Cruise Screen 'Supergirl XXX' at UCSB |
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—Students in Professor Contance Penley's Film and Media Studies class at the University of California, Santa Barbara became the first people in the world to get a glimpse of Axel Braun's fourth Wicked Comix opus, Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, by way of a special screening Thursday afternoon hosted by Braun himself and his star/contract girl Carter Cruise. The screening was held at the campus' Pollock Theater, where Braun and Cruise took the stage immediately afterward to conduct an hour-long Q&A with the students. "It was awesome," Braun said. "Professor Penley is an incredible woman who I truly admire and respect, and I am deeply honored that I was asked once again to speak and to premiere my movie at UCSB. The students seemed to really like it, and I had a lot of fun interacting with them. It was a beautiful, refreshing experience for both Carter and myself, and I surely hope to repeat it in the future." Added Cruise, "I really enjoyed speaking at UCSB because it gives me hope that future generations will be more open and sex positive. All the students were so excited to be there and involved, which is a lot more than I can say for most college classes, but definitely the best part was seeing Supergirl on the big screen. The movie is amazing and the visual effects look so cool, and it was really awesome seeing how our hard work paid off." Offered Prof. Penley, "It's not every day that the students in my class get to hear from a legendary adult film director, and a performer who in her first year in the industry won Best New Starlet and Best Actress awards. They learned so much from Axel about everything from the art of film and the history of porn, to copyright and the state of the adult industry, and they were of course beyond thrilled to get a sneak peak of Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. The film looked extraordinary on the big screen." Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody is due out next month.
