Nadia Ali Making Feature Dancing Debut May 5 At HQNYC |
NEW YORK—Nadia Ali will make her future dance debut Thursday, May 5, at HQNYC, formerly known as Headquarters Gentlemen’s Club. HQNYC owner Big John invited the Pakistani porn star after reading about her experience in various news outlets. Big John, who expressed his support of Ali’s American right to free expression, is a Muslim of Albanian heritage. As a first-generation American from Pakistan, Nadia Ali was interviewed by The Daily Beast about pushing religious boundaries in the name of adult entertainment. In the piece, the 24-year-old shares her religious background, her journey into the adult industry, and if, in fact, she is banned from Pakistan as a result of performing in adult films. She also discusses death threats, her family, culture versus religion, feminism (particularly for Islamic women) and more. Ali, who caused controversy in her home country by performing wearing the ceremonial headscarf, has also received death threats for her work; read about it here. “I’m so moved by all of the support I have been getting all over the country, and I cannot wait to come to New York City—the most racially diverse city in America—to perform and meet my fans,” Ali said. “I also really love to dance and make people smile. It’s what I live for, so I hope everyone can join me, if only to say hello.” To register to attend, visit HQNewYork.com. HQNYC is located at 552 West 38th Street (between 10th and 11th avenues) in New York City.
