Copy Me! Kits Takes Penis Casting to the Next Level |
NORTH PASSAPEQUA, N.Y.—For R.J. Daniels, creating a penis casting system made sense: After hearing throughout his childhood “Don’t touch your penis!” he spent his late teen and early adult years trying to find someone to touch it for him, and having a model of it could really help cut down on the back-and-forth involved with dating. “I was tired of the status quo,” Daniels said. “I needed to be able to express myself in a fun way. Taking time to go through the entire dating process was exhausting and expensive. I just wanted to get right down to business. ‘Check this out … what do you think?’ And if things went well, success!” With a casting of their penis, Daniels said, men could see their members in a way not previously possible, and perhaps use it for furthering relations with potential partners. “Imagine if you could have a copy of your male member in your pocket and just take it out for fun … you know, an ice breaker,” he said. “Of course it would need to be in the right setting. If it was well received, you could take it to the next level.” That led to Daniels coming up with the idea for the penis casting system. The Copy Me! penis casting system, however, is not Daniels’ first foray into the novelty field. He was one of the founding creators of the Create-a-Mate in 1996. The novelty item was so well received, it was quickly copied and re-created by other companies. “As with all really good ideas, people feel the need to make their own version to they can make a profit for themselves,” Daniels said. “This often leads to a cheaper version—an inferior replica of your great idea. Around the world there are now people who reproduce the original idea with their version that is somewhat underwhelming. “I still have the first purchase orders for the guys who bought our systems just to knock us off,” Daniels added. With Create-A-Mate, Daniels and his partner saw many ups and downs; aside from the knock-offs and competitors, Create-a-Mate was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. When the offices flooded with more than 4 feet of water, officials temporarily relocated to Florida until they could reorganize and resume operations in 2013. Daniels said as the company recovered, he wanted to expand the product and what it could do. “There was just a lack of funds to open things up and do what I really wanted to do,” Daniels said. To make that happen, Daniels said, he needed to leave his former business partner and come back as Copy Me! “Copy Me! uses high-grade materials, including silicone with coloring options that don’t fade,” he said. “Since the mixture needs to be at a certain temperature, we now include a thermometer. People said it was sometimes difficult to retain an erection, so now we include a compression ring to help. To keep it clean, we now have a storage pouch in the kit. And all of these new items are made specifically for us and our product.” The Copy Me! Kits come with a number of other options to make the process and final product even more customizable: vibrators, handles and a number of color choices, ranging from flesh tones to neon green, pink and more. There are also a number of videos on the company’s YouTube channel (Copy Me Penis Casting), including those showing how easy the entire casting process is. Copy Me! started making a splash almost immediately: Jenny McCarthy and husband Donnie Wahlberg used the kits and talked them up on her popular radio show Dirty, Sexy, Funny on Sirius XM Radio. Daniels said Copy Me! also now provides even stronger customer service, a good distribution channel and an overall better product. “We don’t care if you only order one or two kits a month or 20 to 30 every week; we want everyone to be treated the same, as an important customer,” he said.
