AVN Novelty Expo Begins With Busy Opening Day |
LAS VEGAS—Once again, the AVN Novelty Expo took over the Paradise Tower—renamed the Elegant Angel Tower—of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas for its annual three-day run. The event kicked off Wednesday with the opening of the show floor, as well as educational seminars, the official ANE Bash and the “O” Awards. Exhibitors on the show floor—located in Montrose, Monterrey and Newport ballrooms—saw brisk traffic on opening day, as buyers and other trade attendees were looking for the biggest and best names in the pleasure product industry, as well as for newcomers to the game. Returning exhibitors included adult novelty distributors Eldorado Trading Company and Nalpac. Eldorado Trading once again had their knowledgeable staff members on hand to show off some of the best brands in the industry, including CalExotics, Jopen, Doc Johnson and more. This year, Eldorado increased their participation in ANE by covering the cost of badges for buyers who registered in advance for the show. For complete information on the products carried by Eldorado, visit Eldorado.com. After a successful show last year, Nalpac also returned to ANE. In addition to talking with buyers and trade attendees about the various product lines the company carries from top manufacturers, staffers were also celebrating the achievements of company founder Ralph Caplan, who was chosen for induction into the 2016 class of the AVN Hall of Fame - Pleasure Products Branch. More manufacturers and products carried by Nalpac, visit Nalpac.com. Curve Novelties—one of the newest manufacturers in the industry—made their inaugural appearance at ANE, and impressed visitors to their booth with their newest collection Gossip. The Gossip line features powerful bullet vibes and egg-shaped vibes coated in bright silicone molded into various shapes. The Bounce, Whirl, and Groove all come in purple, pink and teal and boast four escalating speeds and wired remote controls. The Adore, Charm, Desire, Tease and Excite massagers come in the same color options, but boast three speeds and four functions all reached through a push-button control on the base. The Mia Maxx differentiates itself from other vibrators by having a shaft that thrusts back and forth almost 3 full inches. The Mia Maxx offers seven different vibrational patterns. With various color options, the soaps are also available as soap on a rope. The company introduced new penis-shaped suckers at their booth, too. For more information, visit KumKleanSoap.com. Slik Willie lubricant was also a first-time exhibitor. The company offers a non-staining hybrid silicone in 4-ounce and 8-ounce bottles, as well as a condom-compatible version of lube called Fuck Juice. For more about the varieties, visit SlikWillie.com. Joydivision returned to ANE after making a splash at last year’s show. Still getting plenty of attention was the XPander products. The pieces are designed to improve prostate health and boost orgasms for men. The XPanders stretch out once inserted to provide a more filing sensation and to better reach and stimulate the prostate. The collection, can be seen at XPander.com. Also new to ANE was Aoni, a condom manufacturer. Aoni offers a variety of styles, including Ultrathin and Over-Time Combo. The condoms are made of premium latex and come in easy-to-peel foil packets. The products have been featured in Men’s Health and articles from the Associated Press and Reuters. For more information, visit AoniCondoms.com. Impulse Novelties was also a major presence on the show floor, and representatives talked up the Closet Collection and the Back Door product line. Rather than just create G-spot or external toys, Impulse Novelties creates a colorful array of pleasure products designed to be used in a variety of ways. The Closet Collection continues to impress retailers and consumers since the products are organized by personality to better match the buyer. For more information, visit ClosetCollectionToys.com. Making its ANE debut, HotShotz showcased reusable heat packs in a variety of styles. From hand warmers to neck and shoulder packs to face masks, the packets deliver heat anywhere at anytime. Their ball gags come in a variety of size and color options, making them perfect for newbies as well as seasoned players. The company also manufactures cuffs, collars and other select items. The first-time exhibitor offered the original Performer pill, which is scientifically formulated to bring about the best possible results. Also available in the booth were The Performer Man, which offers the same formula and benefits of the original with an added masculine boost, and The Performer His & Hers, which includes the Performer Man pill and a female pill designed to increase libido and heighten sexual arousal. For more information, email kevin@theperformerpill.com. In the first day of seminars at ANE, attendees got advice on everything from how to find the right attorney for their online or brick-and-mortar stores, to how to get more involved in their communities as a business owner to what they need to become EMV compliant and what credit card processing options are available to them. At the ANE Bash—the official opening-night party of the AVN Novelty Expo—attendees mixed and mingled while enjoying cocktails. A few brave souls even attempted to bowl a few frames in the Real World Suite at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Last Vegas, while others congratulated winners of the “O” Awards, which were announced at the beginning of the party. The ANE Bash was sponsored by AfterDark, Stockroom and Naughty Business.
