Done With That Dildo? Sex Toys Hanging From Portland, Ore., Power Lines

PORTLAND, Ore.—In a seemingly never-ending effort to #KeepPortlandWeird, someone—or someones—is tossing dildos over the power lines throughout the Pacific Northwest city. In every case, dildos of various sizes, colors and styles are paired together with string and tossed over power lines. News reports say the dangling dildos are being met with everything from a smile and a shrug to concern and embarrassment.  City officials said they have received hundreds of reports about the sex toys, and added that they don’t believes the hundreds of pairs all around town pose any kind of fire hazard as they hang from power lines. The dildos reportedly started showing up at the end of June, and their numbers have increased exponentially since then. It is unclear who is responsible for the prank/art project/political statement/what have you. But if Chicago had its Cows, and Cleveland had its Guitars, while can’t Portland have its Dildos?
