CSC's June Events Include Visits From 3 Golden Age Porn Greats |
SAN FRANCISCO—The Center for Sex & Culture is proud to announce an action-packed schedule in June. Celebrate Pride Month with CSC's events and those presented in collaboration with Frameline's annual film festival, the Queer Cultural Center's National Queer Arts Fest, Red Hots Burlesque, Here Come the Ecosexuals, and California Institute of Integral Studies. Featuring film, performance, readings, classes, and much more, CSC's events seek to inspire thought-provoking conversations about sexuality in its many and myriad forms. Unless otherwise noted, all events held at CSC: 1349 Mission Street between 9th and 10th in San Francisco. Seka, Selena and Howie Gordon Book Party Thursday, June 11, 7:30-10 p.m. It's memoirs time from the Golden Age of Porn Come meet and greet three of the brightest stars as they present their tales from three of the best books written about the age. Trans Feminist Porn: A Screening and Talk with Tobi Hill-Meyer and Chelsea Poe Saturday, June 13, 2-5 p.m. FREE EVENT at CSC Come hear from two of the women who've been leading the charge for trans positive values in porn. Tobi Hill-Meyer and Chelsea Poe will share with you selections from their recently completed work, discuss the different goals they hope to achieve with through it, and talk about their experiences in the industry. CSC cosponsors Frameline’s Seed Money: The Chuck Holmes Story June 21, 9:15 p.m. Castro Theatre It’s an only-in-San-Francisco story: closeted Indiana boy heads for the gay mecca, comes out in the fabulous 1970s, builds an adult-entertainment empire that redefines pretty-boy masculinity, befriends David Geffen and Bill Clinton, helps found the Human Rights Campaign, donates millions to community causes, succumbs to AIDS, and is honored as the namesake of the SF LGBT Center—all while indulging his obsession with hairless bubble butts in visionary porn epics.
