‘Boundary-Breaking’ Dana Vespoli Wins with ‘TS, I Love You’

VENICE, Calif.—Dana Vespoli was rewarded for her daring, diversity and one damn hot scene at the 2015 AVN Awards over the weekend when she won in the Best Transsexual Sex Scene category. The dynamite scene was with Venus Lux in TS, I Love You, which Dana also directed. In her coverage of the AVN Awards, Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals’ piece titled “Five 2015 AVN Winners That Were Worth The Hype” included high praise for Dana, her win and her overall Dana-ness. “Performer/director Dana Vespoli is many things, and boundary-breaking is definitely one of them,” wrote Tibbals. “TS, I Love You is a wonderful collection that challenges all sorts of stereotypes present both in porn and in the wider social world. It’s also hot as hell. It seems only appropriate that Dana and the savvy, sensational Transsexual Performer of the Year, Venus Lux, win for their scene in TS, I Love You (which Dana also directed).” It’s not the first time Dana’s work has been memorialized in trophy form: She won the NightMoves Award for Best Director – Non-Parody in 2013, Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release at the 2014 XBIZ Awards and in 2007 she was awarded Directrix of the Year by Adam Film World. Last week while she was charming fans at the Evil Angel booth at AEE, a new movie was released.
