DA: Donny Pauling to Face New Charges |
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif.—Still incarcerated in the Colusa County jail on charges related to sex with a minor under the age of 14, former porn producer turned anti-porn activist Donny Pauling appeared in court Wednesday for a hearing, during which the prosecutor indicated that additional charges will be filed against the 41-year-old, who currently facing charges for alleged crimes against one victim. According to appeal-democrat.com, "During the hearing, Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra said she would be filing new charges." As AVN reported in early December, however, Chopra indicated at that time that additional charges related to a second victim would soon be filed against Pauling. A week later, the case took a turn toward the bizarre when it was revealed that Pauling's alleged sexual crimes with minors were related to accusations levied against Sutter County Sheriff’s Captain Lewis McElfresh Jr., who had also been arrested and charged with the sexual abuse of an underage female. Wednesday, in court, Chopra said that "there are additional victims." The Appeal-Democrat also reports that Pauling has a new lawyer, Roberto Marquez, who is expected to argue for reduced bail when his client returns to court on Friday. Pauling's bail is currently set at $500,000. "Judge Susan E. Green scheduled the hearing and said Pauling's bail may be lowered, remain the same, or it may increase depending on what new information is presented," reported the site.
