Mia Isabella Interviewed for Reason.com, Talks GTA 5 Sex Workers

NEW YORK—Mia Isabella has provided a candid interview for Reason.com in which she discusses the depiction of sex workers in video games, specifically her voiceover role in the billion-dollar video game, Grand Theft Auto 5. “It’s an amazing article, and I thank Reason Magazine for covering my perspective,” said Isabella. "Feminist critic Anita Sarkeesian has argued that sex workers in video games are commodified and mistreated,” says writer Noah Berlatsky. “However, many sex workers have criticized Sarkeesian's own language, and the way she seems to suggest that all sex workers are brutalized victims.” Berlatsky adds, “I thought Mia Isabella made the important point that there are real women involved in the production of the games, and that critics should take their voices into account.
