Donny Pauling Facing New Charges That Force Jail Transfer |
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif.—Former porn producer turned anti-porn pastor Donny Pauling, who was arrested earlier this month on allegations related to sex with a minor, is facing new charges after being arraigned last week. Local news outlet Appeal-Democrat.com reports that Pauling pleaded not guilty to the original charges, which were pressed after "a 16-year-old girl told Sutter County sheriff's investigators on Nov. 30 that Pauling had sexual contact with her for the last three years." According to Lt. James Casner of the Sutter County sheriff's office, however, the 16-year-old told officials on Saturday that there is a second victim, who Casner said "is related to one of our employees." Because of that association, he added, Pauling will be kept out of the Sutter County jail and the investigation handed over to the Sutter County District Attorney's Office. His bail currently set at $500,000, according to records on the Sutter County Sheriff website. Following through on that, Casner stated that Pauling, 41, has been moved to the Colusa County Jail on Saturday, "for security purposes" and "for transparency." Additionally, according to the news site, "Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra said the second alleged victim has been interviewed and Chopra will be filing new charges [against Pauling]." The article adds, "When he was last in court, Chopra said the alleged victim reported Pauling was obsessed with her and she was scared." It also describes Pauling as "a local anti-porn activist who has given talks locally and nationally about the negative experiences of women and girls in the porn industry."
