Turkey Bans âGame of Thronesâ from Military Academies |
TURKEY—The Turkish Army has banned the showing of HBO’s Game of Thrones to students at the country’s military academies. The reason given is a desire to keep violence and pornography away from the students, but considering these are warriors-in-training, it’s probably the porn they really care about. You know, all that porn on Game of Thrones. At the same time, according to Business Standard, recent updates to secondary education regulations imposed by the Army mandate that, “New classes will be entirely based on ‘basic religious education, the Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad.’” That would be like having Liberty University create the curriculum for West Point. Has anyone checked that curriculum lately?
