Pornhub Unveils New Times Square Billboard

LOS ANGELES—BetaBeat reported today on the unveiling in Times Square of a new billboard by adult tube site Pornhub.com that uses one of the Beatles’ most famous refrains to deliver its message. The unveiling was accompanied by the Gotham Rock Choir. According to BetaBeat, “The Pornhub team debuted the ad yesterday morning with a performance by the Gotham Rock Choir, who sang ‘All You Need Is Hand,’ the appropriately altered Beatles parody that is now toxically stuck in your head. Pornhub told Betabeat that they spent $100,000 on the Billboard, which is 54’ x 48’ and above an ad for Stolichnaya vodka on the corner of 47th Street and 7th Avenue.” In other Pornhub news, WREG News Channel 3 in Memphis, Tennessee, accidentally or not, or maybe they were hacked (or not), added a link to Pornhub in a tweet sent out this morning. The tweet read, “Use our interactive radar to track the rains and storms.” But the link didn’t go to interactive radar of a meteorological sort. A station spokesperson later commented, “This morning an inappropriate tweet was sent out from the station’s account. We sincerely apologize; we have taken steps to investigate and to tighten security.” A subsequent tweet from the same account also hinted at the possibility that the station’s Twitter account had been hacked. The link went to a Pornhub account under the name Rockbone, according to eonline.com, which also reported that by this afternoon, “Twitter did what it does best and started rolling out the puns and jokes using the hashtag #rockbone.”
