Queens Man Uses Porn to Harass Immigrant Neighbors

NEW YORK CITY—Things seem to be heating up in the New York borough of Queens, where a Queens Village man is reportedly so upset that an Indian family has moved next door that he's been placing explicit porn images in his windows where the neighbors are sure to see them, much to their chagrin. Now, the man, who goes by the name Jimmy, has gotten some media coverage from the local ABC News affiliate along with a video segment, as well as a recent mention by The Gothamist, which generously characterizes his behavior as a "protest." Unhinged, may be more like it. According to abc13.com's Jim Dolan, the "nasty neighbor is plastering pornographic pictures in his front windows so the family next door can see. An immigrant family in Queens Village. "The photographs can be seen clearly from the public sidewalk," adds Dolan, who went to speak with the man as he arrived home in his car. "They are so vile, so intentionally pornographic, that just about anyone would be offended by their public display, especially, the father of the 4-year-old boy who lives right next door." The neighbors, Sanjeev Aggurawal and his family, told Dolan that the intent of putting the photos where they can see them appears to be to offend them. "He's upset because some Indian guy moved in next door. That's the basic thing," said Aggurawal. When Dolan tried to ask Jimmy about the photos, the conversation appeared to go south pretty quickly as Jimmy moved from his car up his front steps to his front door, with Dolan following him. "I'm drying them out, they got damp last night," Jimmy said. "They've been up for some time," Dolan said. "Excuse me," Jimmy said. "You do that to offend your neighbors, is that the gist of it? Is that what you do, sir? They have children next door," Dolan said. "Get off my porch," Jimmy said. The police have been called, of course, and when they do come Jimmy will remove the photos from the window, but as Dolan notes, they don't stay down for long. "Jimmy took down the photos so our cameras wouldn't see what he was exposing neighborhood children to," he reports. "But Jimmy has taken them down before; he almost always puts them back up as soon as the police drive away. What neighbors want is for the pictures to come down permanently so they can walk their children freely in the neighborhood." Image captured from ABC13 news report.
