APAC Announces Fundraising Effort for AIDS Walk LA |
LOS ANGELES—The adult industry has long been a source of support for the annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles fundraiser, with individuals and companies participating on teams. Among the recent efforts were teams fielded by Evil Angel and Wicked Pictures. Today, the year-old organization Adult Performer Advocacy Committee announced its plan to participate. An open letter to the adult community reads as follows: “APAC (The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee) was thankful to hear that AB 1576 recently died in suspension thanks to the united efforts of many people from within and outside of the adult industry. APAC looks forward to uniting adult industry participants and allies once again to give back to the community together in the 30th Annual AIDS Walk LA. “APAC is hosting a team to raise money to walk together at the event on October 12. We welcome members of the adult industry, supporters, advocates, and family members to join our team, contribute a financial donation, or show up and cheer us on. If you’re interested in becoming a member of or donating to our team, you may follow this link to do so. “The group wants to recognize that several AIDS support charities and nonprofits were proponents of our cause in the fight against AB 1576 and we are excited to seize this opportunity to show our thanks to these groups. We believe in the intrinsic value of both charitable work and rallying together as a unified community. “We hope to see you on October 12.” The letter was cosigned by APAC board members James Deen, Chanel Preston, Conner Habib, Ela Darling and Veruca James.
