Canadian XXX Movie 'Sexcula' Playing July 11 in Chicago |
After successful screenings in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Paris, France, and Ottawa, the first Canadian-produced hardcore movie Sexcula makes its US debut at the prestigious Music Box Theatre in Chicago on July 11. This screening coincides with the Exxxotica Expo taking place that weekend. Sexcula is the only hardcore sex movie made in Canada during the entire "Porno Chic" era. The film was produced with an $80,000 tax credit. And because it was illegal to produce or exhibit pornography in Canada at that time it means that the Canadian government funded an illegal sex film! Sexcula features a madcap mashup of vampires, Frankenstein's monsters, mad scientists, fembots, burlesque dancers, hunchbacks, lumberjacks, and a gorilla dubbed "Rape Ape." Opened in 1929, the Music Box Theatre retains its original architecture and design. With a dark blue ceiling, “twinkling stars” and moving cloud formations suggesting a night sky, and walls and towers suggesting an Italian courtyard, patrons are made to feel as if they are watching a film in an open-air Tuscan palazzo. Could there be a more romantic place to watch a porno? Sponsoring this screening will be Chicago's legendary Bijou Theater and its subsidiary, Bijou World Video. Bijou staff will be in attendance with a selection of their rare and vintage adult films for sale. Established by "Porn Archaeologist" Dimitrios Otis in 2001, the company REAL Boogie Nights produces "Return to Porno Chic" screenings of golden age adult films in a party atmosphere. The company invites fans of classic—and often very funny—classic adult movies to "Come on down!" July 11 for big time porno, 50 feet high on the big screen—where it belongs! The Music Box Theater is located at 3733 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60613 and is managed by Douglas McLaren. Check them out on Twitter and Facebook. For more info, call 773-871-6607.
