Pornostagram Changes Name to UpLust |
CYBERSPACE—Pornostagram launched last year in Europe, where the company says it was the first social network on which women, men and couples could take naughty pictures, apply filters to them and send or share them via private or public accounts without experiencing censorship. In March of this year, Pornostagram continued a targeted expansion and launched in the U.S. and South America. The network reports that it has since registered over 82,000 users and experienced 1.2 million page views per day. In May, Instagram expressed trademark concerns over Pornostagram, which inspired the company to submit the choice of a new name to a vote of its users. 7,361 votes were registered in 3 days, and 73.8 percent chose UpLust has the new brand name.
