Poultry Farmers Play Chicken with Porn Site |
LOUE, France—A French porn site known for shooting on location has once again earned the ire of residents of traditional French locales, and this time the chickens may finally have come to roost, literally. No yolk! Last time they pissed off the locals, it was in December of last year, when they shot explicit sex scenes in front of a lycée and posted the scenes online. The school threatened to sue, but backed off in order not to add publicity fuel to the fire. Now, history is repeating itself, only this time the feathers being ruffled are those of the "prestigious" poultry breeders of Loue, who are threatening to crack some eggs in one big soufflé of a lawsuit. Lest anyone get the wrong idea, the porn in question reportedly did not involve any fowl, and no animals of any sort were harmed in the shooting in and around Loue, "a French region famous for its free-range birds," reports the Independent. No, according to the paper's diligent inquiry into the matter, it was the liberties the filmmakers took with certain pastoral themes involving "farmer's daughters" offering special services to local farmers that really tweaked the farmers' beaks. According to the mayor, the video created from the jaunt in Loue, which has reportedly already garnered "2.2 million views since going online on February 12," presents the wrong impression of his idyllic and traditional region of the country. He explained, "Shooting pornographic scenes in broad daylight while crossing the village is bad for its image and that of breeders. It shouldn’t be allowed." A proud people, the good poultry breeders of Loue are clearly concerned about being left with egg on their collective face, but they are equally worried about making matters worse by whipping up a flurry of even more publicity for the porn site. The director of a local chicken farmer's cooperative told one paper, “I don’t want to stir people’s curiosity and therefore encourage youngsters to go see the video on the site. I don’t want to help build their audience. This site is soliciting prostitution.” But the police also say they are helpless, and can find no offense in what is being called a case of the "porno chick flick" gone viral. "For our part, we ensured that no one who took part in the filming of this video was under duress and that no one was injured," said a police spokesman, essentially washing his hands of the merde. That leaves the mayor, Dominique Croyeau, mulling legal action, though the site operator, WebTV, says it has done nothing wrong, insisting, “Obviously no local was present and all the sex scenes were shot elsewhere.” And while the cat is certainly out of the bag regarding the "porn chick flick" not shot anywhere near Loue, and the mayor is left fecklessly playing chicken with a website that isn't taking the bait, at least this incident has helped finally answer the age-old question once and for all: The chicken crossed the road to shoot porn, and never looked back.
