Maryjean Cast in Mainstream Comedy, 'Don Blunderbuss, Private Dick'

NEW YORK—Penthouse model and adult starlet Maryjean has been cast in Joseph Patrick Conroy’s upcoming mainstream comedy project, Don Blunderbuss: Private Dick, currently in pre-production. Maryjean’s cameo in the film will be as a seductive cashier at a shoeshine parlor. “I so thrilled to be in my very first mainstream film, and ready to explore my comedic side,” says Maryjean. “But don’t worry – I plan on continuing my career in the adult industry! There are still so many things for me to do in adult, and so many more people to turn on!” A 1970s period-piece parody, Don Blunderbuss: Private Dick involves an Inspector Clouseau-cum-John Holmes private detective who is hired by an uptown African-American Mafiosi to retrieve his daughter, who has been kidnapped by the Italian syndicate. The storyline is in the vein of Bob Chinn’s seminal Johnny Wadd series. Despite the theme and nature of the film, no actual sex will take place in the film, but will be comically implied instead. “I’m beyond excited to have Maryjean be a part of this film,” said Conroy. “As a Bronx native with Dominican heritage, she’ll fit snugly into the storyline, and her ample assets are tailor-made for the comedic aspects of the integral role. She’s gonna knock it outta the park!” An IndieGogo campaign will begin in the coming weeks to fund the production of the film. Principal photography will commence this spring in New York City.
