Albuquerque Man Vandalizes Adult Video Store |
ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Veteran First Amendment attorney H. Louis Sirkin has for several years been saying that it's a mistake for the adult industry to speak glowingly about how much money the industry takes in on an annual basis, especially since those figures tend to be gross receipts rather than profits. But the question is whether Albuquerque resident Elmer Cross is even aware of them? Seems that local police arrested Cross, 44, on charges of "criminal damage to property over $1,000" for having thrown a large rock through the front window of Pussycat Video, located at 7901 Central Avenue NE, last Saturday evening—twice. According to a news report, upon arrest, Cross was alleged to have stated that the reason for his actions was "to get back at 'rich pornography owners.'" He was first spotted engaging in the vandalism by members of the Albuquerque Fire Department, who then saw Cross entering a neighborhood business after committing his crime. Also according to the report, Cross was found to have had a crack pipe among his possessions when arrested. He was booked for the vandalism charge, with bail set at $2,500.
