California Exotic Novelties Raises Over $36K in Walk for Hope |
CHINO, Calif.—California Exotic Novelties raised more than $36,300 in the fight against women’s cancers in the 2013 Walk for Hope. Team Club CalExotics, the top fundraising team, consisted of company employees and family members who joined 7,000 walkers on Sunday, Nov. 3, at City of Hope in Duarte, Calif., for the annual event. Team Club CalExotics was supported by many companies and people who helped make them the first-place fundraising team as of Nov. 5. A team from Honey’s Place also participated in the event. Jackie White, vice president for California Exotic Novelties, is the Club CalExotics Team Captain and spearheaded the initiative. “I can’t believe the enthusiasm from everybody involved and the incredible amount of money we raised for City of Hope,” White said. “My expectations were far exceeded, great job team and a big thank you to everyone who supported us!” Walk for Hope Los Angeles Presented by Staples is a 5K and 2K Walk that benefits the women's cancer research, treatment and educational programs at City of Hope. City of Hope is a leader in the fight to conquer cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. The annual event was attended by many cancer survivors, family members, members of the media, and community activists. “This is our second year of involvement with the Walk for Hope Los Angeles and I am so very proud of our team,” CalExotics owner Susan Colvin said. “City of Hope is a center for cancer research, clinical investigations, and home to compassionate care for those battling cancer. The money we raised will support more research, treatments and education that will help people with cancer everywhere live longer, more fulfilling lives.” Donations are still being accepted.
