Rabbi-Themed Vibe Gets Creator Into Row With Ann Summers

LONDON—A Jewish man who hand-crafted a silicone sex toy he named the Rampant Rabbi has found himself in some hot water with lingerie company Ann Summers. Representatives from Ann Summers contend that Shed Simove’s Rampant Rabbi dildo has a name that could be confused with their Rampant Rabbit toy. While the toys don't physically resemble one another, the lingerie company objects to the similarities in the name. Simove said his piece, which is designed to look like a Jewish rabbi and is targeted to “the modern Jewish woman,” was rejected a trademark after complaints from Ann Summers. "I can't trademark it but I'm still using the name. I don't think there is any confusion between the products," he told the Daily Star. The Rampant Rabbi, which promises to give users a “religious experience,’ sells on Simove’s website ShedSimove.com for £99. But the Rampant Rabbi isn’t the only potentially offensive item he offers. There are also the Vagerie, Cunt Dracula and Buckingham Phallus.
