âPorn Professorâ Schwyzer Popped for Injury-causing Felony DUI |
SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif.—Banished from the classroom, “porn professor” Hugo Schwyzer is now wreaking havoc on the highways. The deeply troubled Pasadena City College teacher was arrested Friday on a felony DUI after the car he was driving collided with another vehicle, causing serious injury to the other driver, the Pasadena Star-News has reported. Schwyzer was “charged with felony driving under the influence with special circumstances of causing injury to another person, according to Sgt. Brian Lepore of the San Benito County Sheriff’s Department,” the article continued. He’s already out on bail with a scheduled San Benito County court appearance on Nov 5. While for some a felony DUI is a truly sobering experience that leads to a period of quiet introspection, for Schwyzer the accident and arrest provide the perfect fodder for further interaction with media, including social media. Consistent with his inability to refrain from engaging in obsessive self-diagnosis, Schwyzer is once again posting his way to infamy. “Schwyzer posted on his blog Monday that he was ‘under the influence of 6 milligrams of Klonopin’ and said the young woman he hit while driving with his mother was airlifted from the scene with injuries,” the Star-News added. The paper reports that later the same day Schwyzer switched to Facebook to say he had deleted his blog post for “legal reasons,” and asked for defense attorney recommendations. He said he would not drive anymore (!) and had once again entered “partial” hospitalization in Monterey. “I handed my mom my driver’s license even before the courts take it away from me in a few weeks,” he wrote on Facebook. “I am a danger to myself and others and mitigating that danger is vital.” Needless to say, there is something seriously wrong with this story. Schwyzer has proven time and again that he is incapable of staying away from triggers that set off extremely disturbing behavior, which now includes causing serious injury to others while driving impaired. How was this man allowed to make bail with a driver’s license still in his wallet?! To ensure their safety, Monterey drivers might want to keep a sharp eye on Schwyzer’s blog and/or Facebook page. If history is any guide, he’ll be writing about his future felonies on one or the other, or both. It was on his blog, after all, that he admitted to having had sex with students at PCC, leading to his current exile and investigation by the college, which will probably lead to his firing. To be sure, Schwyzer is in dire need of real help, not part-time help or self-help, but a profound and prolonged professional intervention that takes him far away from social media or any media, and allows him to finally heal in such a way that no one but he and his doctors know what’s going on. Otherwise, the tortured porn professor’s obsession with public notoriety will end up causing even more dire injuries to himself or others.
