Katie Summers Files Suit Against John Stagliano |
LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Katie Summers has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Evil Angel owner John Stagliano and his corporate entities, alleging that she suffered damages from the defendants' failing to inform her of Stagliano's HIV positive status during the shooting of her scene in the Stagliano-directed Buttman's Stretch Class 4, which was released in 2010. Evil Angel's Karen Stagliano, John's wife, told AVN that though the lawsuit has not yet officially been served, "John is aware that a lawsuit has been filed." Mrs. Stagliano went on to say, "I believe that there is not a substantial case. John did not do anything that endangered anyone whatsoever, especially not this girl. I've seen the scene. There was no sexual contact that would do anything to warrant him having to have informed her of his condition." She added, "John has been undetectable for HIV for over 15 years, and he has said that he would never intentionally do anything that would harm anyone." Summers is being represented in the case by Robert L. Starr, a Woodland Hills, CA based litigation attorney whose specialties include employment law and personal injury. Starr confirmed to AVN that the suit had been filed, and said he would issue a statement about it later today.
