AB 332 Hearing Streaming Live Online Tomorrow |
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Assembly Bill 332 receives a second hearing in the state assembly's Labor and Employment Committee tomorrow afternoon. The meeting will stream live over the internet here at 1:30 p.m. PDT. AB 332 is the third item scheduled to be heard on the committee's agenda. If the bill passes through the Labor and Employment Committee it goes to the Assembly Appropriations Committee, and then to the full state Assembly. From there, if passed, AB 332 would go to the State Senate. The Labor and Employment Committee is made up of the following seven state assembly members: Ed Chau, Jimmy Gomez, Chris Holden, Roger Hernandez, Mike Morrell, Luis A. Alejo and Jeff Gorell. After initially being proposed in February by Assemblyman Isadore Hall III (D-Compton), AB 332 sailed through the state legislature's Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media committee in a 5-1 vote in favor of the bill. Earlier this month, Hall and AB 332 co-sponsor Richard Bloom amended the bill to state that adult producers must meet the requirements of the California's Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the bloodborne pathogens standard. The edits also bumped back the date the bill would take effect, if passed, to Jan. 1, 2015.
