Pleasure Chest Celebrates 'Steak and BJ Day'

LOS ANGELES—Tonight, adult boutique The Pleasure Chest will present a free workshop on the art of the blowjob, and some in attendance will go home with free steaks and gift cards donated by local butcher shop Lindy & Grundy. The event has been organized to commemorate an irreverent holiday known as “Steak and BJ Day,” observed annually on March 14 as a men’s response to Valentine’s Day. Head of the Class: Blowjobs 201 will take place on the eve of Steak & BJ Day, Wednesday March 13, from 8 to 10 p.m. at Pleasure Chest’s West Hollywood store. The class, taught by educator Sex Nerd Sandra, is dedicated to teaching students “the art of the better blowjob.” The course description suggests that the class “is for anyone who feels confident in giving head, but wants to take their skills to the next level,” making it a perfect primer for the annual holiday. Kristen Tribby, the store's director of creative development and strategy, promises that a few lucky folks in attendance will be sent home with steaks and gift cards to Lindy & Grundy. Commenting on the donation, Tribby said, “We’re thrilled to have the support of a great, local lesbian-owned business on this event. Like us, our neighbors at Lindy & Grundy also provide a service to the community with their own workshop program.” Tribby also noted that The Pleasure Chest’s ongoing series of free workshops draws large crowds. “I recommend that people arrive at least 30 minutes early to get a seat," she said.
