Against All Odds, Exxxotica New Jersey a Resounding Success

EDISON, NJ—When Exxxotica New Jersey turned off the lights this Sunday after three days of non-stop action, the fifth show at the New Jersey Expo and Convention Center all but cemented its status as the largest event in the country dedicated to love and sex. Exxxotica opened its door just over a week after Hurricane Sandy devastated the state, and just days after Nor’easter Athena dumped seven inches of snow on the region. Just days before the start of the expo, the convention center had over two feet of water in it, complete with fish. Walls, carpeting and fixtures were destroyed, but thanks to the dedication and hard work of the building management, all was repaired so the show could go on. Despite the challenges thrown at organizers, not only did the show open as scheduled, but fans and exhibitors were treated to another amazing weekend, courtesy of Exxxotica. Organizers Three Expo Events also were able to give back to the community with Exxxotica Gives Back, which saw attendees and exhibitors reaching into their hearts and donating much-needed food, clothing and household goods for those in the area who were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Also, through donations and silent auctions, close to $5,000 was raised that will directly benefit the not-for-profit charity, Relief for Little Ferry and Moonachie Fund. These two Northern New Jersey towns were ravaged by the super storm. “We are so proud of our attendees and exhibitors stepping up to the plate and making the ‘Exxxotica Gives Back’ disaster relief drive a huge success,” commented J. Handy, Director of Exxxotica. “The support from everyone was overwhelming. It was an incredible feeling being able to contribute to help the community that has supported us so much over the years. We hope this pay it forward mentality continues until these areas are whole again.” Attendance for the expo was nothing short of amazing and exhibitors who once again reported strong sales at their booths noticed those numbers. Women and military personnel past and present flocked to Exxxotica, taking advantage of “Ladies Free Friday” and Sunday’s “Veteran’s Free Day.” Saturday, cars filled the parking lots and streets surrounding the venue as the crowd poured through the expo’s doors consistently for 10 straight hours. ”Although we were cautiously optimistic, we didn’t know what to expect with all that went on and was going on — floods, power outages, gas shortages,” said Handy. “While we discussed the idea of postponing Exxxotica, the outpouring of support to produce the event as scheduled made up our minds. When the box office closed on Friday night we knew we made the right choice after the astounding attendance and people reaffirming our decision to open as planned with their thanks and comments about how this was what the area needed. We would also like to thank not only our fans, but all of our stars and exhibitors who stuck by our side and supported Exxxotica and New Jersey.” Over 100 stars and 100 exhibitors attended Exxxotica and once again showed New Jersey the best that the adult world has to offer. The dual seminar areas were packed for every topic, with some, such as “Rocking Her World” from Seymore Butts, book readings from superstar Tera Patrick, colorful spoken-word performances from the legendary Ron Jeremy, and daily explorations of the Fifty Shades phenomenon. The RealTouch Entertainment Stage treated fans to Exxxotica’s biggest shows ever, highlighted by a jam-packed concert by hip-hop superstars Naughty By Nature on Saturday night who performed their Grammy award-winning hits. RubberDoll and Stoya once again treated everyone to amazing daily performances, the Bad Boys of Australia made the ladies happy, and all-star panels got up close and personal with attendees.   The nights in New Jersey and New York were just as entertaining. Official after parties in gentlemen’s clubs like Sapphire NY, Bourbon Street and Centerfolds featured some of the biggest names in the biz, like Tori Black, Lexi Belle, Alexis Texas, Teagan Presley, Charmane Star and Kaylani Lei. At Exxxotica’s host hotel, the Sheraton Edison, spaces within were turned into nightclubs and presented entertainment from DJ Prime and top area band Man Down who partied the nights away with celebrity hosts like Ron Jeremy and Tera Patrick.  The exhibitors couldn’t be happier with the way Exxxotica turned out. “Exxxotica New Jersey was the event of the year! Even with Hurricane Sandy they rocked the house,” said Shirley (aka Punker Barbie), with event sponsor Chaturbate.com. “E = MC2, which means Exxxotica = Money & Commitment x 2,” said Vickie from Twisted Cherry, an online retail store who drove all of the way from California to exhibit at the event.  Dan Davis, editor of Club magazine, added, “The crowds flocked to the Club Spotlight booth to meet the biggest stars in the biz, and just as much as they enjoyed getting up close to their adult favorites, the stars themselves said this was the best show to date in terms of selling merchandise and being able to meet their admirers while doing good via the charity relief efforts. We’re honored to have played a part in the success of the show and congrats to the Exxxotica team and the expo center staff for overcoming so much to make this event happen. New Jersey needed it!” Exxxotica will return next year with the debut of Exxxotica Atlantic City, April 19-21, at the Trump Taj Mahal. Later in the year, Exxxotica will also make its debut in Fort Lauderdale, along with returns to both Chicago and Edison, NJ.
