Peek Into Pleasure Chest’s Gloryhole

LOS ANGELES—Turning 40 is a pretty big deal, and it’s a milestone that The Pleasure Chest apparently takes very seriously. Late last August the venerable West Hollywood store celebrated the company’s 40th year at the vanguard of the adult toy industry by presenting a gala party called Gloryhole: The Pleasure Chest Uncut. This September, The Pleasure Chest and sponsors Masque, Fun Factory and LA Weekly are celebrating with another Gloryhole bash to be held on Sept. 13, once again at the West Hollywood store. Gloryhole is a peek behind the red curtain, giving guests a chance to mix and mingle with the sexual glitterati. Equal parts tease and sleaze, Gloryhole will let the curious see what goes on after hours at one of Los Angeles’ most storied locations, on the very same floor where Joan Jett once shopped for leather gear and 1970s gay porn movies were made. The night will be hosted by Lenora Claire and will include the Dominion Spanking Station, $3 tacos provided by Pink Taco, and the XXX Gloryhole installation, featuring appearances by Nina Hartley, Buck Angel, April Flores, Reid Mihalko and others.
