Manwin Temporarily Halts Production; Asks Talent to Retest |
LOS ANGELES—Manwin today announced that it suspended production as of late yesterday and that, going forward, it will only accept clean STI tests dated as of today, Aug. 17, and later. The company's move comes in the wake of reports of a male performer in Los Angeles testing positive for syphilis. The work stoppage applies to all the Manwin brands including Brazzers, Digital Playground, Twistys and Mofos."Manwin has stopped production as of late August 16, 2012," company spokesperson Kate Miller told AVN. "We are asking talent to retest as of August 17, 2012 under one of the APHSS clinics which now includes syphilis test standard."If performers have tests dated from August 17, 2012 or later, they can resume production," she added.Yesterday, APHSS announced that it's approved testing facilities have added a test for syphilis as part of the standard panel. Manwin brands only accept tests from APHSS approved testing centers that are no older than 15 days.If a performer now needs to retest after initially testing within the past 15 days, the cost of the new test will be reimbursed under the Performer Subsidy Fund, Miller said.
