Entrepreneurâs Idea Turns Into Honey Care Products Line |
LAS VEGAS—Honey Care Products is creating a buzz in the industry with two new products, launched at the AVN Novelty Expo in January. The two showcased projects are Honey Lube and Honey Oil, part of a line of six products. Though both similar, the main difference is an oil- verses water-based lube. Honey Oil looks like honey and has a floral honey scent where Honey Lube is clear, no scent and tries to mimic natural female lubrication. Founder Maxx Appelman said, “In the three years we have been developing formulas, I can honestly say this is a game changer. Our two newest personal lubricants, encompass local honey, are all natural—and yet, still don’t get sticky. You want the health benefits of honey, without the downside of stickiness and sugars that can cause vaginal irritation. “I want to offer a high quality, healthy formula that is cost effective and in the best packaging in the industry. It’s as simple as that,” he continued. Anyone can see Appelman’s excitement grow as he starts relating obscure facts about honey, including the reason it’s called a honeymoon (because aphrodisiac honey mead was consumed in Arabian times after weddings). And he loves to explain why Honey Care Products do things differently, from their “World’s Cutest” bottle packaging, to using local manufacturing and being all natural. Company advisor Daniel DiMassa said, “In an industry plagued with inferior overseas products and big companies trying to save a buck, our fans tell us how refreshing we are.” The Honey Team doesn’t want to be thought of as a joke gift or “novelty” item. While the packaging of a plastic honey bear might be the first thing to catch the eye, the formula is really what’s important. But with success, comes imitation. “I will never forget the day I saw a neon green glow-in-the-dark lube in a bear bottle; I’m still shuddering,” Di Massa said. “Please make sure it’s the original Honey Lube and not a cheap knock off.” For more information, visit Facebook.com/IWantHoneyLube or Twitter.com/UseHoneyLube.
