Alternate Reality: Kaylani Lei, Randy Spears Meet Dr. Drew

LOS ANGELES—Adult stars Kaylani Lei and Randy Spears appear on an episode of new couseling show Dr. Drew's Lifechangers airing Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. PST on the CW network. And though they appear as themselves, that's where the "reality" of their pretense for being there apparently ends. It seems from an online preview of the episode that Lei and Spears pose as a couple in a segment called "Cheaters On Trial With Judge Drewdy" ... and Spears—who claims he no longer works in the adult business—wants a "ruling" that Lei's continuing to perform counts as "cheating." The asburdity of this entire put-on will of course be blatant to anyone who knows a thing or two about the industry, but we presume Dr. Drew (and/or his producers) are banking on there not being too many of those in the show's viewership. Unfortunately for them, his "bailiff" seems all too familiar with both stars, so perhaps even in-house the ruse didn't fly. Either way, we have to give Dr. Drew a big tsk-tsk for exploiting our poor porn brethren to fit a pre-determined mold he needed for his show. For shame! (Eh, it's good for business.)
