SegPay Adds EU Non-Credit Payment Options |
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.—SegPay, a leading online payment service provider, announced today that it has fully integrated a direct-debit payment solution for France and Italy within its payment processing system. The integration of this solution offers online merchants a secure and convenient payment option for consumers without credit cards in the French and Italian markets. SegPay is the first major IPSP to market the direct-debit payment option to the French and Italian consumer markets. The move builds on the successful initial launch of the payment program, which included the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria and Germany. Merchants now have expanded reach across the lucrative EU marketplace, and more countries are being added. SegPay merchants utilizing direct-debit capability can increase German internet consumer transactions alone by up to 60 percent and will see an increase in overall revenue from the other European Union countries, where up to 75 percent of the population does not own a credit card. “This is just one more element in our continuing pursuit of additional incremental revenue for our clients,” said Cathy Beardsley, president and CEO of SegPay. “Direct-debit payments are extremely popular in the European Union, and integrating this service into our system helps deliver a hassle-free way to increase the customer base for our merchants.” Integrating the SegPay direct debit solution is a simple, one-time process. All revenues earned on Direct Debit sales will display in each merchant’s regular SegPay admin and be reflected in the weekly payout. Since 2005, SegPay has offered webmasters a state-of-the-art billing platform that provides real-time credit-card, direct-debit and check authorization services. SegPay provides automated password management systems, marketing tools, real-time sales reporting, and an online Web interface that makes account changes fast and convenient.
