Pleasure Chest Marks Its 40th With Gloryhole Bash

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Last night The Pleasure Chest celebrated four decades of bringing adult toys to the denizens of West Hollywood and Southern California with a gala celebration that drew big crowds and generated lots of good-natured fun. Aside from the entertainment provided by perusing all manner of sex toys, from high-end to low, that lined the shelves at the venerable boutique, party-goers were also entertained by spanking and BDSM demonstrations, a buff and bare-chested stiltwalker, a magician, an acrobatic performance on silk ropes by adult star Belladonna, and some sexy vamping by April Flores, who was peered at by attendees through a wall lined with "gloryholes." Tables were set up for "kinky crafts," and party-goers flocked to the photo booth to get souvenir shots from the event. Free drinks flowed, and a food truck dispensed poutine (Canada's answer to that junk food favorite, the French fry). Many well-known faces from the sex-positive world were spotted during the evening, including sexpert Dr. Susan Block and adult stars Nina Hartley and Kristina Rose.
