Joanna Angel Guest Reviews 'Bucky Larson' for Movieline |
HOLLYWOOD—Most critics may be trashing Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, the new porn-themed spoof from Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production house, but Joanna Angel begs to differ. "It surprised me," she told Movieline.com's Julie Miller after the cineaste outlet brought her to a Friday screening of the film to solicit a take on it from a real-deal porn star. "I actually usually hate movies that are about the porn industry because they are so far off from the truth," Angel professed. "It was definitely better than I thought it was going to be. It was really cute and funny." Asked to rate the movie on a scale of up to 10, Angel said, "If I were to compare this to other comedies, I'd give this a six. I definitely did like this better than all the other mainstream movies I've seen about porn before." Well ... except Boogie Nights, she conceded after Miller brought that film into the discussion.
