A Longer Penis? Yes, Please!

LONDON—Men looking to add a little in the length department can rejoice: A recent study published in the Journal of the British Association of Urological Surgeons notes that some non-surgical methods for increasing the length of the penis do in fact work. On the flip side, some other non-surgical only lead to soreness. And surgical means for correcting “short penis” can be dangerous and have an “unacceptably high rate of complications,” the study said. Marco Orderda and Paolo Gontero of the University of Turin in Italy researched scientific literature and published studies related to the safety of surgical and non-surgical means of enhancing the male member; the studies reported on 121 men who had opted to go under the knife, and on 109 who used penile extender methods such as traction. In most cases, the men found, the study subjects had average penis lengths (1.6 inches flaccid and 3 inches rigid). One study reported that four to six hours of daily traction for four to six months resulted in an average increase of 0.7 to 0.9 inches when limp and 0.67 inches when erect. Another method—so-called penile lengthening exercises—did not result in any increase in length, the men reported. And while none of the studies reported any increase in girth, there was no loss of thickness either when there was an increase in length.
