Wickedâs âSpeedâ Crosses Finish Line at AVN Awards |
LOS ANGELES—With a stylish new marketing campaign that adorned both its sleek new signing booth and much of the Palms Casino Resort, Wicked Pictures maintained a formidable presence at the 2011 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. From the awards show stage, wheeling and dealing in the company’s business suite, or grabbing attention in the mainstream media, Wicked Pictures' contract performers, award-winning directors, and key executives were playing to win. Wicked’s week in Sin City concluded with the 28th Annual AVN Awards Show, where Brad Armstrong’s turbocharged motorcycle adventure Speed crossed the finish line with three high-profile awards—Best Video Feature, Best Director-Feature and Best DVD Extras. For the Wicked crew, the excitement began with a Kaylani Lei hosted a VIP soiree at Eva Longoria’s club EVE while Lupe Fuentes debuted her Sexy Little Angel clothing line at Lavo in the Palazzo. The next night saw Jessica Drake host the official AVN Adult Entertainment Expo Kick Off Party, complete with special appearances by her Wicked sisters, at Tao in the Venetian, while the night before the awards found Fuentes throwing another high-profile soiree at Lavo. The Wicked booth was a hub of activity where Spike TV, Wire Image, G4 TV, The Associated Press, HBO Latin America, and many more chronicled the excitement as the Wicked Girls greeted their fans and presented the Wicked RealDolls line in an impressive display which included the debuts of the Kaylani Lei and Lupe Fuentes Wicked RealDolls. In addition to the company and the lines it distributes being nominated for dozens of AVN awards, the night featured Price as one of the official Red Carpet hosts, while Drake and Fuentes took to center stage as presenters. Not only did Brad Armstrong’s Speed receive awards, but Wicked’s resident king of comedy, Jonathan Morgan, received AVN’s Best Sex Comedy award for Couples Camp—his fifth such honor. In other highlights, Alektra Blue won Best Body in AVN's newly-minted Fan Awards, and, in a fitting acknowledgment of Wicked’s enduring commitment to quality, company owner Steve Orenstein was inducted into the AVN Hall Of Fame (Founders Branch). After the awards gala concluded with many of the industry’s top players headed to Wicked's afterparty at Moon inside the Palms.
